Amazon Updates FBM Policy Violations: Only Affected Offers Will Be Deactivated
Amazon is changing how it handles policy violations for Fulfilled by Merchant (FBM) offers to reduce the impact of individual listing issues on sellers’ overall account health.
What’s Changing?
Starting August 31, 2026, Amazon will temporarily deactivate an FBM offer if it puts the seller’s Account Health at risk.
Previously, a listing that failed to meet Amazon’s required performance metrics could put the entire selling account at risk. Under the new approach, Amazon will isolate the issue to the specific affected offer.
This means:
- Only the FBM offer violating the policy will be temporarily deactivated.
- Other active listings will remain unaffected.
- Your overall Account Health will not be impacted by the deactivated offer.
- Amazon will send a warning email before deactivation, explaining the issue and how to resolve it.
Which FBM Metrics Can Trigger Deactivation?
Amazon will evaluate several performance policies when determining whether an FBM offer should be deactivated:
- Cancellation Rate
- Late Shipment Rate
- Order Defect Rate
- On-Time Delivery Rate
Sellers should closely monitor these metrics to prevent individual offers from being deactivated.
How to Reactivate a Deactivated Offer
If an FBM offer is deactivated, sellers can review the issue through the Account Health dashboard.
Go to Account Health → Other Policy Violations, then follow Amazon’s instructions to address the violation and reactivate the affected offer.
What This Means for Sellers
This update gives FBM sellers more protection from individual listing-level performance problems. Instead of allowing one underperforming offer to create broader account-level consequences, Amazon is moving toward a more offer-specific enforcement approach.
However, sellers should still monitor cancellation, shipping, delivery, and order defect metrics closely. Preventing violations remains the best way to keep FBM offers active and maintain strong account performance.
