Seller Central has a new Insights and Opportunities dashboard for Returns and Recovery. This dashboard helps both Amazon-fulfilled (FBA) and Fulfilled by Merchant (FBM) sellers track return performance, understand why customers return products, and recover value from unsellable inventory.Â
The Insights and Opportunities dashboard consists of three main tabs:
- Return Insights
- Recovery
- Resource Center
Tabs Overview
Below is a detailed overview of the three tabs:
1. Return Insights
This tab provides key return metrics, product-level data, and recommendations to reduce returns.
Features:
- Filters: Date, Marketplace (US only), Category, Fulfillment type
- Metrics: Return rate, total returns, comparisons to the previous period
- Product Insights Table: Product details (image, name, link)
- Return rate & total returns
- Top 3 return reasons
- Recommended fixes (listings, product quality, manufacturing)
- Charts:
- Return trends (weekly/monthly)
- Top 5 return reasons
- Critical review rate (1–3 star reviews)
2. Recovery (FBA only)
Focuses on how sellers can recover value from returns processed at Amazon fulfillment centers. Items may be restocked as sellable or resold through Grade and Resell in used condition.

- Filters: Choose analysis period
- Overview: Key recovery metrics vs. prior period
- Charts:
- Graded units
- Units sold
- Total sales
- Net recovery (after fees)

3. Resource Center
This tab provides quick access to extra tools and reports for:
- Returns management tools
- Customer feedback handling
- Tracking item disposition
- Recovery & removal settings
Key Metrics
The metrics show results for the time period you select in the Filters section. The following are the key metrics you can track:Â
- Total returns: Number of return requests.
- Return rate: The percentage of shipped units that are returned.
- Customer refunds issued: Total refund amount (including refunds without physical returns).
- Critical review rate: Number of 1–3 star reviews.
- Grade and Resell graded units: Number of items successfully graded into used conditions.
- Grade and Resell sold units: Number of graded items sold.
- Grade and Resell total sales: Sales revenue from graded items.
- Net recovery: Sales from Grade and Resell, minus related fees and costs.
This dashboard helps sellers monitor returns, understand return reasons, act on insights to improve products and listings, and recover value from unsellable inventory.
