Amazon Updates Product Bundle Requirements Starting January 11, 2027
Amazon is updating its product bundling policy effective January 11, 2027. Most product bundles listed under a single ASIN must be packaged by the original manufacturer or brand.
What’s Changing?
Starting January 11, most bundles must use an original manufacturer or brand configuration. Sellers can still offer non-original bundles in specific cases.
Exceptions include:
- Authorized repackaged products: Sellers can create repackaged bundles with a valid letter of authorization from the brand owner or manufacturer.
- Exempt categories: Bundles in gifting browse nodes and camera product types are exempt from the original manufacturer requirement.
- Virtual Bundles: Brand owners and authorized resellers can continue creating bundles through Amazon’s Virtual Bundles tool.
- Additional bundle options: Amazon is now allowing bundles in Books, Music, Video, DVD, and Video Game categories, as well as bundles containing secondary generic products, service plans, and gift cards.
- Consumables: Multi-brand bundles are allowed when the seller has the required letters of authorization.
What Sellers Need to Do
Review your existing product bundles before January 11, 2027, and make sure they meet Amazon’s updated requirements. Sellers can continue selling noncompliant inventory before the deadline.
After January 11, noncompliant bundles may be deactivated and recorded as listing violations in Account Health. Amazon will also notify affected sellers by email.
For FBA inventory that no longer meets the requirements, sellers should review Amazon’s removal-order process and remove noncompliant inventory from fulfillment centers.
Bottom line: Sellers should audit their bundle listings now, verify manufacturer configurations or authorization letters, and address any noncompliant bundles before the January 11 deadline.
