Starting October 26, 2025, Amazon will start automatically removing FBA inventory that has been stored in its fulfillment centers for more than 270 days.
Here’s what that means for you and what you can do:
What’s Changing
- Automatic removals: Any inventory in an Amazon fulfillment center for over 270 days will be automatically removed. This could mean disposal or donation of your items.
- Notice: Amazon has sent an email to sellers about this change.
What You Should Do
You need to configure your FBA auto-removal settings by Oct 26, 2025, to determine how you want to handle your aged inventory.Â
- Go to FBA Inventory in Seller Central
- Select Settings and click FBA auto-removal settings
- Choose your preferred auto-removal option:
- Return to your address (fees apply)
- Dispose of inventory (fees apply)
- Liquidate eligible items
Removal orders cannot be cancelled once created.
Why This Is Happening
Amazon says it is making this change to save storage space and help sellers reduce long-term storage costs from keeping slow-moving or unsold inventory in warehouses.
Take action before October 26, 2025, to avoid your inventory being automatically removed.
